You can use Chatfuel to automate your Instagram sales and customer service.
Can you use Instagram automation?
Because of Facebook restrictions, Instagram automation is only available for accounts with 1,000 to 100,000 followers.
Not eligible yet? You can still prepare yourself in advance. Start building your IG flows (you can do that without having to connect your Instagram account), and then test them to see how they'll look like for your users.
There are some things to keep in mind if you want to link your Instagram account to Chatfuel:
Before you connect your Instagram page to Chatfuel, link it to a Facebook Page for which you have admin rights;
Your account should have between 1,000 and 100,000 followers;
Make sure you have allowed access to messages in your Instagram account. To do that, go to your Instagram Business account Settings ⇒ Privacy ⇒ Messages and check that the Allow Access to Messages toggle is on.
To connect your Instagram account, do the following:
Open your chatbot in Chatfuel
Navigate to the Grow tab and locate the Connect Instagram account section
Click Connect account. You'll be redirected to Facebook to grant Chatfuel the necessary permissions
❗️ Make sure to grant instagram_basic and instagram_manage_messages permissions
After that, you'll be automatically redirected back to Chatfuel, and your account will be connected 🎊
✅ Note that if you disconnect and reconnect your Facebook Page, you'll need to do it all over again. If you don't see the Connect Instagram account widget in the Grow tab, refresh the page and check again.
Each user who interacts with your Chatfuel bot is considered a new user. For example if one person has contacted your bot via Facebook and via Instagram they will be counted twice – once for Facebook and once for Instagram.
